I need the ability to re-order images on a webpage via javascript (without re-loading the page). The user should be able to re-order images in the way he desires and after he clicks Save the new order will be written into the database.
My website is called <[login to view URL]>
The concept is illustrated below:
Before re-ordering:
[login to view URL] - Bath
[login to view URL] - Kitchen
[login to view URL] - Garden
[login to view URL] - Garage
After re-ordering:
[login to view URL] - Kitchen
[login to view URL] - Garage
[login to view URL] - Bath
[login to view URL] - Garden
The images have descriptions associated with them so they have to move as welll. Actually, the image and its description will be stored inside the tags so everything inside the tr tags is actually what we'll be moving (not just the images.) As you can see from the example above, the new order will be saved into the database after the user clicks Save.
The fields in the SQL database table (tblScene) where the order will be written to is as follows:
SceneID
Description
FileName
OrderID
So basically the OrderID of each record is what will be updated via running update SQL statement (I will take care of this piece - I just need you, the programmer to develop the javascript which will give the order in which the image are displayed on the webpage when the user clicks Save.
NOTE: THIS NEEDS TO WORK ON ALL MAJOR BROWSERS - IE, NETSCAPE, FIREFOX WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS/INSTALLS
