I'm after an accomplished structural engineer to determine the load capacity of my pitched roof, constructed from asphalt shingles, in anticipation of a proposed central air conditioner installation. Your tasks will encompass: - Evaluating the current structural integrity of the roofing system. - Calculating the additional load the roof can support. - Advising on the feasibility of installing a central air conditioning unit on a wrap around roof. We need to be able to satisfy the following for a building permit we have applied for. 3. If the AC is attached to the roof, please provide construction detail of the connection of the AC unit at the roof. 2nd Review Comment: The condenser is shown on the roof. Provide enlarged connection details to show complete load transfer and the plans shall be signed/stamped by a licensed professional. Additional comments may be generated (i.e. supporting calculations). 3rd Review Comment: The licensed professional stamp is outdated, please resubmit the most updated stamp for the licensed professional. 3rd Review Comment: The submitted licensed professional stamp is illegible, please restamp plans to show so the stamp is legible. 3rd Review Comment: Please verify that the licensed professional who stamped plan is either an engineer or architect. 3rd Review Comment: Detail shows the AC unit to be mounted on the roof rafters, please provide structural calculations to verify if the (E) roof rafters are capable of supporting the additional loads by the AC unit.
