Excel VBA (create custom XML file)

An experienced Excel VBA programmer is required (Excel 2003) to create a VBA script that can extract data from an Excel spreadsheet and create custom XML files. The XML files are used to populate a web-based graphing application (the graphing application has already been developed). The graphing application is located at: [login to view URL] The general specification for the data files can be found in [login to view URL] The XML format has been modified slightly to allow for more than two years of data, and for the colour of each year to be specified in the XML file. Copies of the existing XML files are contained in the [login to view URL] archive. Updated xml files reflecting the changes in the previous paragraph will be supplied prior to the commencement of the job. You should note that the number of years, areas, targets or objectives may vary. Thus your VBA code should be able to search through the spreadsheet and automatically determine how many of each exist and create a compliant xml file. Compliance of the xml file will be tested against the graphing application (ie the xml file must be fit for our purpose). Sample data in contained in the file [login to view URL], however the layout may change slighlty. Your code needs to be smart enough to determine the relative position of data rather than the absolute (fixed) position. Only the percentage columns are used in the data files. You also need the labels and other properties as described in xmlData.doc. Your code should use good coding standards and be well documented. If you do a good job then there may be an additional project.
