Hi, I understand someone made mess out of your parent and child themes, normally this would not happen as the child theme is supposed to overrid only the code from parent theme which has been specified in the child theme, someone most probably used a template of child theme which resulted in this type of issue. I can create a fresh child theme, clean code and it will not mess up anything from your parent theme.
