The purpose of this project is creating a \"WinSock emulation\" layer for Microsoft Windows Runtime (the official API for Windows 8 \r\n\r\nStore app and Windows Phone 8 app) so that the application powered by Winsock or BSD socket (not supported on Windows Runtime) can \r\n\r\nbe transparently linked to this emulation library, as if the Winsock API is available on Windows Runtime.

Hi, I have developed high performance socket applications on Windows using winsock. I can develop the adaptor for WIndows phone OS to translate and adapt calls between Winsock/BSD and WIndows Runtime for which an equivalent call is not available. Cheers -Sridhar

Hi, I'm a senior software engineer with socket programming experience using C++, C#, and Java programming languages. As far as I understand, you got a large application based on WinSock and you cant rewrite it for Windows 8. Instead you want to create a library with which you could recompile your software and make it work on Windows 8. Do you need this new library to be written in C++? Will it be a native .dll?
