This is a stub application that isolates my problem. The Main form of this app contains 5 edit boxes that are refreshed by a timer to display the position and dimensions of the second form. It also contains a component descended from TPaintBox that displays a StretchBlt (magnified) image of the area around the mouse pointer. The second form contains 16 panels located around the edge of a borderless form, each of which call code that allows the form to be sized and dragged in response to onmousemove methods. Grab a corner or the middle section of an edge to size the form or the outer third of each edge to move the form. Notice as you move the form that the PaintBox on the main form and the position values refresh quickly and responsively. However, if you grab a sizing handle the refresh of both the paintbox image and the displayed values is very slow. DragSize the form at just the right speed and there is no refresh at all until you stop moving! Please develop a solution to this delayed response for both the image and the value displays. I suspect that the solution will probably involve threading but I don't know how to do that properly in this situation.
