**Storage device driver development for? Windows? XP.**
?
We are developing a hardware with ATA/IDE interface and looking for someone with the "storage device driver development" ? knowledge and experience in windows XP to develop the device driver? for? Windows? XP.? The device should use the generic WIN XP ? ATA/IDE driver. The current device is working properly in Linux and windows 98/95 and DOS.? The detailed information will be given for selected bidders.
## Deliverables
We are working on a hardware project which has an ATA/IDE interface and acts as a storage device like a hard drive. We are using FPGA technology and we developed an IP for communicating to the PC using ATA protocol. The device can work up to PIO Mode 2 and Multiword DMA mode 0. It is detected properly in BIOS and works in DOS/Win95/Win98 (generic driver) and Linux (Libata and old IDE driver). In the XP windows we want to use the generic ATA/IDE driver, But we have really weird problem in XP. The device is detectable in XP only when we attach a regular hard drive and then remove it after powering off and then attach our device to IDE. It can not be detected in the first place or after removing the device restarting the XP without the device and then attaching our device. I have build an ATA sniffer which connected to the ATA/IDE cable and sniffs all the command and data from the IDE cable. The behaviour of the regular hard drive and our device is exactly the same but our device is not detected but the regular hard drive is detected. I am working a month on it. I even started to debugging the Atasys Driver in XP to see the debugging info of the device but couldn't see the cause of problem. I tested different PCs with different chipsets but no success. Could the pnp cause this problem? I attached the 2 log files of a regular Fujitsu HDD and our device as you can see in the log files till transaction number 132 (Line number 133 in log file) all the Request and responses to the PC(XP) are identical. But after that one the PC(XP) thinks that the device could/should be slave or master is not detected. for ensuring that It is not due to other pins and signaling just Data line pins(DD0 to DD15) , DIOR, DIOW, Reset, dmack ,dmarq and intrq is connected to the PC. And with this configuration the regular Fujitsu HDD is detectable and functional and Our device is detectable ion BIOS and other operating systems. I have to mention again that the device is detectable and functional in Linux with new Ata drive structure which is Libata and old fashion IDE driver, in Win 95/98 and dos is working properly as well. You can find the log files and block diagram in attachment I recommend to using notepad++ for comparing the log files.
