I have a simple task do create a script to extract information from external database in JSON format and then loading the information into MySQL table on regular basis. In particular, it will involve: - checking when the external database was updated - in regular intervals (this information is published in HTML format but it may be required to query the database directly to check if the latest record has changed) - if database was updated, extracting information via web service API (specifying time range “from last update time – to current time”). Data is delivered in JSON format. - appending the data to MySQL database table. As part of the task you will have to create appropriate MySQL database and the table, run one-off download of historical data and provide corn job configuration for checking of new updates in 15 min intervals.
