The website allows the user to book hotel rooms online. Most of the design work has been done, but the XML/database work has been partially done by the previous programmer, so I am looking to hire someone to continue where he left off The person taking over needs experience in incorporating XML feeds, Code Ignitor, Google Maps, Databases, ( plus php, html, css, jquery, javascript) All XML information is contained in the laterooms user guide Requirements (part 1): The information on the website is populated via XML feeds from the company [login to view URL], and a static database held on our server. The XML feeds contain hotel pricing/availability info. The database contains standard hotel descriptions, photos addresses etc (data that is fairly static) 1. Provide a script to update the hotel database on our server weekly 2. Code required so that user searches database, and contacts laterooms for corresponding info(prices, availability etc). Results should be cached, to speed up search, and make system more stable 3. Code required to handle errors in communication between laterooms and us 4. Provide the option of interrogating the system and see how many hotels are in various cities/countries, numbers of non-hotels, and other stats 5. Ensure results are correct, by comparing results to laterooms website 6. Possibility to add hotels/apartments from other websites (not just laterooms) Requirements (part 2): The website consists of 3 webpages: 1. Home page 2. Search results page 3. Hotel information page The following errors need to be solved/items to be included 1. Home page The lists at the bottom of the page should be links, which take you to page 2 on click. The default settings should then be: (arrival date: today - people: 2 adults - nights:2, currency: GBP) Auto complete script required for destination (with count in brackets) 2. Search results page The arrival date & currency from the home page not carrying forward to this page The table needs to be replaced by one that can handle large data queries by many users, and will not put a strain on the system. Paginations required between php & XML feeds (see XML guide)... remove table script required Facilities search to be tied in to results. When box is checked, results are filtered. (need to link all user search options between server & laterooms) The new table height should be 100% of the page The dropdown filters to also include counts Rows with special rates to be shown in a different color (hover over the amount to show text saying Special Rate) The initial google map (on loading page) should show all hotels on list If a country is selected in the search, the initial map should show the country and no hotels Need special icon to signify hotel location From the laterooms guide, figure out how to incorporate adults and children into search results Results should only include hotel rooms that are available 3. Hotel information page Results of rooms to be in ascending total rate order Select boxes to be included next to rooms so user can select number of adults + kids When back link is clicked, the "people" field is empty on page 2 Google map needs to be formatted Hotels in this area section to include a google map and list showing hotel name, stars, rate/night, within 1km radius Include important information
