We're redesigning our corporate web site, and I'm looking for skilled HTML coders who can turn our graphic design templates into clean, standards-compliant, cross-browser HTML. We will provide a complete page mock-up, a site map, the actual page content, and the? necessary graphic assets.? You will take those individual graphic assets and turn them into an HTML version of our mock-up.
A successful bidder will have the following abilities:
1. Cross-browser testing on IE, Firefox, and Safari.
2. Familiarity with CSS techniques for two-column and three-column layouts.
3. Expertise in modern layout techniques, e.g., the? use of? tags rather than tables to position text and images.
4. Sufficient experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript and PHP that you can implement simple dynamic elements on a page (e.g., form validation, server side includes, etc.)
5. Expertise implementing graphical flourishes in HTML, such as boxes with rounded corners.
6. Access to programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop so that light graphical touch-ups can be performed if necessary.
The site itself consists of about 30 pages total (not including our blog, which we will be maintaining ourselves).? The best way to get? a sense of the scope of the project is to check out our present web site:
Because? we will be maintaining the HTML code moving forward,? we care deeply that the pages not only look good, but that the underlying code be clean and easy to read, with proper indentation, standards-compliance, etc. Selection of a vendor will depend more on your ability to provide examples of relevant work than on who makes the lowest bid.
## Deliverables
The deliverables consist of a complete set of web pages implementing our new site design.? It is important to note one thing that is NOT part of the intended deliverables:? The final copy that makes up the main body of each page is not the responsibility of the Rent-a-coder vendor who bids on this project.? We will accept as complete any pages that have placeholders where the main marketing copy will appear.
Otherwise, final deliverables will include all the elements of a functioning web site:
1. Web pages in valid XHTML (we will be running them through a validator) that renders appropriately across all required web browsers/platforms.
2. Associated stylesheets.
3. Associated Javascript files.
4. Associated server-side scripts, if any.
The files will fully implement all the navigational elements, shared graphic design elements, scripting logic, etc., specified in our site design.
