PLEASE DO NOT CURRENTLY BID, AS THERE MAY BE CHANGES TO THE PROJECT DESCRIPTION OR THE PROJECT MAY BE CANCELLED.
This job is for someone who is already familiar with the Portal Starter Kit as offered by Microsoft or who wants to spend some time getting familiar with it.
The Portal Starter Kit is demonstrating best practices for ASP.net developments of Content Management Systems (CMS) or Portals. All source code is offered by Microsoft for free and can be modified and reused. For reference, please read <[url removed, login to view]>(at the very bottom you find the Portal Starter Kit), where you can Download the source code and review the documentation (you will need the [Portal Starter Kit (VB VS) [url removed, login to view]]version). For a quick preview run it online and click Portal Documentation in the upper right corner of the portal, where all components are explained. (Please do not bid, if you don't understand how the portal works.)
The first step of this project is to extend the Portal Framework. Currently, we will be changing only one of the ten modules supplied by Microsoft, so that it works with the extended framework. In a second step, which is not part of this request, we will adapt existing modules and build additional ones.
Please review the documents and let me know, if you would like to do the job. I tried to write everything down that came to my mind, but I am pretty sure there are things you want to ask. I would suggest the following: If you have immediate questions, just post them and I will answer them, so you can give me your quote. Once I selected a coder I want to work with, we may MSN chat for an hour or two to clarify all of your remaining questions.
