Cornerstone is an open source project with a goal to deliver a complete web-based medical imaging platform. We using the cornerstoneDemo [1, 2] as a tool to annotate Medical Images (DICOM) from a DICOM Server [3]. When annotating an image we would like to have several variables saved in a file (e.g.: JSON file), from the simple Freehand ROI feature [4, 5]. The goal of this project is to develop a new system to collect ground truth (i.e. annotations) from a Medical Image (DICOM). The task of collecting such annotations is of chief importance. Based on a query of the patient ID, it is possible to visualize all the annotations of a given patient collected in a period of time in any imaging modality. The system will produce a data-set of diagnostic annotations from users interactions.
The features and variables that we would like to save are the following:
1) ID of the DICOM Image;
2) Frame number of the DICOM Image (if so);
3) Date of annotation;
4) Annotation coordinates related to the DICOM Image;
5) Number of ROIs [OPTIONAL];
6) Number of annotations per each ROI [OPTIONAL];
