I need some help with my new website. My new site has just gone live, replacing the old site. However I am looking for a new contractor developer to do this and continuing work. Priority work I need done in THIS project: 1. There are references in the new site to the old www2 name within the site and although these continue to function, they need to be updated by a developer. 2. Apparently just loading the homepage results in a massive volume of data transfer – nearly 300MB. This needs to be investigated and fixed. The page takes a long time to load and I don't understand why. 3. Some of the little link icons are not working and need to be fixed. I have ongoing work, so am looking to build a relationship with a developer that I can use over the coming months. The site's theme is cmssuperheroes probusiness wordpress. Upcoming issues that I will need fixed are: Getting a mail/newsletter system working properly Fixing up the graphics on my home page. I can help you to fix these 3 problems on your website. 1. This first one can be done quickly. 2. Upon initial investigation, it doesn't seem that the website transfers anything near 300 MB (on my browser, it was something around 27 MB) . But it's possible to improve the loading time, specially by resizing some of the pictures that exceed 8 MB. 3. It seems the link icons (like the social media ones) are not showing up because it's missing a font file which is responsible for rendering these icons. It's possible to fix this by copying the font file to the server.

Hi, although I am new to this site I have a few years of experience working on WordPress projects and optimising them. I had a look at your site and ran some inspection tools on it to check how we might speed it up. The largest part of the problem boils down to the site loading the images in full size and then scaling them down for displaying them, so having scaled and compressed versions of the images should reduce the loadtime without the user experience suffering in any way. There are a couple of other things I would do to further increase the speed like changing the way some of the scripts and resources are loaded in WordPress, loading some things in the background that are not part of the immediate visual experience.
