Introduction: A tennis racquet is strung with two different (sometimes similar) strings weaved together using a pattern of (M) Mains and (C) Cross strings. Develop a model that estimates string bed stiffness given the following: String Tension of Tennis Racquet both for the Mains and Crosses given separately. Number of Mains (M) Number of Crosses (C) String Linear Density (g/m) String Diameter String Stiffness in lbs/inch for the string used in the Mains and Crosses Racquet Head Area You will use the following open source FEM software : [login to view URL] What the final analysis should reveal is the following: Say I have strung a Tennis Racquet using a string-A of known properties at a given tension. If I replace the strings with another string-B of known properties, what tension should I choose ?
