English (ESL) Grading

This is an unusual assignment, so please review carefully. The project involves listening to (ESL) Korean students speaking to a native English speaker. The purpose of the assignment is to grade each of the students according to an evaluation criteria provided. In this assignment, there are seven (7) students that are to be graded based on short (10, 15 or 20 minute) English lessons/conversations with a native English language speaker. There are seven (7) 10-20 minute MP3 recordings of phone-based ESL lessons between a native English speaker and a Korean ESL (English as a Second Language) student, living in Korea. The purpose is to grade each student according to a pre-defined grading scheme. An example evaluation for a different student is provided in MS Word format. NOTE: This cannot be emphasized enough! The most important part of grading the students are the comments you make based on the lessons/conversations. A numerical value is to be given for each criteria in the grading scheme (see sample evaluation for details), but the comments are crucial, and the number you provide only gives an estimate of how well the student is doing in each area. QUALIFICATION: The numerical value you assign for the student's grade in each criteria is based partly on the student's existing grade (e.g., 3, 4, or 5), and cannot vary down more than 1 point or up more than 3 points in relation to the current grade. (If this is confusing, please ask!) The current grade for each student is captured in the MP3 file name itself, in the form: 'Student(CurrentGrade).mp3'. For example, the student, Tonny, has a current grade of 4, and his mp3 file is identified as: 'Tonny (4).mp3' DEADLINE: I need this completed by tomorrow (within 12-15 hours). Please feel free to ask me any questions about this project. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform GRADING FORMAT: Please see the evaluation sample ("Gloria [...]. doc") and use this exact format. Please create a new, separate Word document for each student and use this identical template for each student. The length should be similar, but please use as many words as you require to evaluate each student (i.e., don't worry about word length)! I have included an example grading scheme, however, please do not just re-copy this for each student; you actually need to listen carefully to the student and grade him accurately. (Again, please do not simply copy & paste the example evaluation!)
