I have a C# Console App that Queries SQL Server to get a list of id's to process. Then based off the ID will determine which API call to make. The results returned from the API are then stored in a DataTable until the process is complete. Then using a SQL Table Variable and SQL Stored Procedure the DataTable results are dumped into the source SQL Server Table. My syntax works, but it is SLOW! I have read that DataTable's are resource hogs and that could be the slowdown, but need someone more advanced to examine. The things I would like the updated code to do: 1) Minimize strain on SQL Server 2) Speed up the process 3) In the catch block - (somehow save the data so we are not starting back at square 1 when the procedure restarts) ....My thoughts are to 1)Run the Stored Procedure to update the SQL Server Table with the current contents of the DataTable 2) Write the results to a .csv and re-load once the process begins again *Not sure which one would be the fastest and less resource intensive, my opinion is the 1st* This project should be for SQL Server 2008 R2 and .NET Framework 4.6.1

Do you know SQL indexing? You need this to improve speed of SQL queries. I a not sure at the moment so I will have to check but it seems it would be mich faster if we Will integrate indexing. Now I would request you to share me the database and aource code so that I can investigate on it.

Dear Employer, I have 11+ years of experience as full stake .net technology expert. I will be happy to take this challenge. I have couple of questions before I can start on this, 1. Did you do any analysis to find the bottleneck step. For example. what if API calls are eating 95% of time of over all process then even by optimizing rest of 5% will make no difference. 2. Are records has any relation in between or is there any constrain that IDs has to be processed in sequence only? I using multi-threading allowed in your application? 3. Have you done any bench marking to evaluate current performance and to-be performance? I mean, how you will evaluate delivery of this project?
