About the work , Yes , I have recently worked on a few projects involving GSM modem and a SD card , interfaced with arduino . The modem is controlled via AT commands sent serially (Assuming the logic shifter is in place ) to access the RF communication methods such as call and use of LTE and GPRS . Also SD card is installed via SPI Communication (MISO , MOSI , SCK )pins and data is logged inside in a .txt file . We will provide you a good simulation done on proteus software to verify details .
