I am a published author and I have one of my books that would be interesting as a movie but I need a screenwriter, preferably one with military background, that would do it justice. It is non-fiction, WWII, experiences of 30+ US submarines saving men from aircraft crashing into the Pacific ocean and rescuing teachers, nuns and priests, spies, etc., fleeing the Philippines from the invading Japanese. If anyone remembers Das Boot, it was a movie of a U-boat during WWII but it was actually the stories of what happened to different U-boats all rolled up into this one sub. That's what I see here. The book is 700+ pages and broken into 132 chapters - each chapter a submarine with their stories of rescuing people. Some 2,400 people were rescued by US subs during WWII and the index has names of about 2,200 of them. Some chapters can be tossed but others make for some compelling videography. It's about time for a good WWII movie in which weapons made to kill (subs) were used for good (rescuing people)! Those rescued included one of our presidents, George Herbert-Walker Bush, and several that went on to retire as Admirals. Thanks.
