Our site, [login to view URL], has a task manager that was written years ago using a cross-browser javascript library called 'DynAPI'. We have chosen to move away from this code to exclusively use JQuery.
There is a section of our site that is heavily using DynAPI; our Task Editor. If you sign into [login to view URL], as user 'Sample', password 'Sample', the Task Editor is on the Premium menu tab so you can see what's involved. Pay particular attention to things like how the list scrolls, how the form can be expanded, the list sorted, etc.
We are open to interface changes, but these need to be detailed beforehand. We don't want to go backwards. So, taking out our existing scrolling and replacing it with a simple scroll bar is probably too lame to be acceptable.
We do not want to change any of the back-end structure - just how the front end is implemented. So the goal is to duplicate populating the existing javascript data structures that are passed to the server.
It's not necessary to duplicate/replace the dropdown calendar. We will handle that ourselves later.
