Sample: Body Language Tells A Lot Of Truth And Lies If you accused an honest person of telling lies, furious anger would be the automatic response. How would a liar react on being accused of lying? We probably don’t know really! Very often a liar offers excessive information and may repeat the question as a kind of hedging against the wrongdoing of telling lies. Circumlocution often implies lies being told. Repetition is something similar like repeating the question backwards as a method of gaining time for the response. Symbolism may be true that the liar’s feet unconsciously point towards the exit as a kind of escape. On the other hand the liar may impose something like a water bottle as a physical barrier against the interviewer. Strong classic denial with greater emphasis than usual may characterize that the liar is at work. The Bill Clinton case when he denied sexual relations may be a case in point. Some actions are commonsensical like fidgeting, grooming and unconscious signals like brushing the hair and adjusting the tie. These little actions usually mean that the speaker is not the normal truthful self and is hiding behind those actions. Sweating may indicate lies but could also be a sign of nervousness. Regarding eye contact, research reveals that normal eye contact with the audience takes place at 60% of the time. A liar would have greater eye contact!
