Project Description: 300mm Sim Racing Wheel This steering wheel is from AMS2. I really love the design and its simplicity, so I am seriously considering on designing and building this wheel. I assume that the first step is to have a 3D model created that can be used in a 3D printer. To be honest the materials for the housing and the faceplate doesn't matter to me whether carbon fiber or 6061 aluminum, whichever is cheaper. As for the molded grips, perhaps I can find an online service. If it's possible, I would like to keep the budget under $1000. I would like to use aluminum knobs for the encoders, translucent buttons that can be illuminated by LEDs and lastly, a 5-inch VOCORE screen ([login to view URL]) As for the rear of the wheel, I would like 3 paddles on each side, and I will use the shapes and designs from GSI as an inspiration.
