I would like to create a proximity detector to detect movement of vehicles similar to a blind spot detector within a radius of 20 meters. I would like to use FFT techniques to process the raw IF signal created by the sensor and the appropriate amp. I would like to use Arduino as FPGA is too expensive for this application. I have several K Band sensors that I need to convert into a working proto-type for a moving sensor that detects proximity within a range of 15-20 meters. Solution needs to amplify IF from sensor and process signal so that it accurately detects objects moving into a 15-20 m radius and can differentiate objects that are static. I have several proto-types under way. One can easily pick up target movement through doppler shift at 20 meters while placed on a moving object but does cannot distinguish between moving object and static objects. The other has an IF signal that is amplified but need an inexpensive solution the processes correctly. There are $3 FPGA boards. Not sure if they will work. Alternatives of using FHT library with Arduino. Need someone who has done this already.
