Windows server 2012 got hacked

I feel your pain.. {huge groan} As you have probably already rebooted the computer, the only viable way to recover any/all of your "*.encrypted" files is by paying for the decryption software and private key code used to encrypt them. Your only other option is to find a working backup, recover it, and begin bringing it up to date. Important: Do NOT 'normal' boot the infected server. Use SAFE boot only, as you do not want to restart any ransomware software remnants that might have been left behind. For future reference: If you discover running ransomware, do NOT shut down or reboot the computer. Use HIBERNATE instead. Hibernate will persist everything currently in memory to a file on your hard drive which gives you an outside chance of hacking the private key being used to encrypt the files. Armed with the private key, and any one of a bunch of (main stream) encryption software methodologies, one can undo the damage done. Again, I want to emphasize, that this is a long shot solution. When the sun shines in the sky again: Backup!.. Backup!.. Backup! If the ransomware got to your Backup files, then this is a security flaw that MUST be fixed. Fortunately, this is the simplest fix to put i place. After taking care of backups, you then need to address the more complex system of live file security. All the very best. Respectfully, Bill.

As a system administrator for more than ten years, you have to restore the server from a clean backup if you have, and make the updates later... Otherwise if you don't have backup, i think it's difficult to decrypt the file, except from the person who do this encryption....
