Using IMDB data for 5000 movies (lots of features like actors, budget, poster details, production year, etc), we try to predict whether a movie will be critically acclaimed according to the IMDB score. Look at which feature correlate with rating first and visualize these. Depending on how complex the analysis should be for your purposes, we can then use linear models, tree-based methods like random forest or gradient boosting, or even neural networks for analysis. We will then conclude by showing what type of movie we should produce and how much money this would be expected to gross while in theatres (compared to a couple historical choices).
