Objective;
Design a low cost water sensor unit to measure;
• Water clarity (Turbidity between 5 NTU and 250 NTU)
This sensor / unit is to be deployed long term in a river.
To provide a spot turbidity reading every 15 Minutes.
Be connected to an Arduino / raspberry Pi and a 3G GPRS to upload data to a web domain
What I Require;
Require circuit diagram and unit schematic so as I can use to contact manufacturers to develop prototype.
What I Suggest;
Refer to “Sketch 01” on following page which uses;
• TSL267 HIGH-SENSITIVITY IR LIGHT-TO-VOLTAGE CONVERTER
• IR Laser Diode
• Voltage reader
• Arduino
• Raspbery Pi
• 3G GPRS
• Solar panel powered battery
Require your input for types of cables / battery voltage AC/DC
Note: Open to your expertise on the issue / design. Please feel free to recommend other diodes / methods etc which you think would suit my needs better. Again this is for long term deployment so needs to be a robust and reliable unit.
Have been informed that infrared laser emitting and detecting diodes will be less affected by ambient light. Open to your expertise to advise different if applicable
Circuit design and technical document explaining the design concept in detail, max 5 pages. You can use a opaque tube to cover the sensor element from ambient light, issue can be resolved. Please feel free to discuss with us in more detail. Thank you.
