PHP Script to Send Email to DB Recipients via MailGun API

We have a PHP script that retrieves email addresses from a mysql database, and sends an email using php mail. Due to web host restrictions on the number of email we can send, and the fact a lot of email sent gets flagged as spam, we need to start using a transactional email service. We'd like to use Mailgun. We'd like our existing PHP script changed (it is very basic, it just retrieves email addresses from a DB and loops through and sends an email to each email address) from using php's basic mail function, to using Mailgun's PHP library and API.
