Anchors are entities that people trust to hold their deposits and issue credits into the Stellar network for those deposits. All money transactions in the Stellar network (except lumens) occur in the form of credit issued by anchors, so anchors act as a bridge between existing currencies and the Stellar network. Using the Stellar protocol, 2 organizations transacting together agree to use a stable coin as the bridge asset between any two fiat currencies. The stablecoin facilitates the trade and supplies important settlement instructions. The institutions use their existing payment systems – connected to the Stellar API – to convert the first fiat currency into the stablecoin. Stellar then simultaneously converts the digital asset into the second fiat currency, completing the transaction. All transaction details are recorded onto the Stellar blockchain for clearing. Our requirements on becoming an Anchor are as below. - stellar core to be installed - stellar node to be up and running - federation server to be installed by following the steps detailed at [login to view URL] - stellar api needs to be put online on an http url TOKEN ISSUE REQUIREMENT - A stellar wallet wallet and secret key needs to be set up . - An issuing account used only for issuing and destroying assets needs to be set up - A base/distribution account used to transact with other Stellar accounts needs to be set up. It holds a balance of assets issued by the issuing account.
