This cool application integrates Google checkout with Wordpress. It is very simple in concept. Google Checkout has published most of the PHP code for integration. See [login to view URL]
In Wordpress I will create standard posts and will make use of custom fields which are passed through to Google Checkout. We will utilize merchant-calculated shipping price which Google asks through the api to calculate the rate as described below in vendor_ship and item_ship.
The post in Wordpress is designated as an item utilizing custom field key and values. It is probable that a plug in which allows Wordpress to work with external PHP forms can be used, for example ezstatic [login to view URL] or any others that are compatible. In Wordpress a small Ajax widget lists the cart contents in the sidebar. Plug in will require storage Merchant ID and allow switching from/to sandbox/production.
The custom fields will typically be;
1. is_item=yes
2. color_attr=red;green;yellow
3. size_attr=12E;13C;14B
4. vendor=MeMy
5. vendor_ship=12
6. item_ship=2
7. qty_avail=
8. price=
-any key with the _attr (allow for up to 3) will display a pull down in the item post.
-the vendor is used as part of the shipping calculation which is simply; if from the same vendor its vendor_ship (once) + item_ship (for each item)
-qty_avail is used for the quantity order input box in the post. If blank show a blank input box, if a number show number available.
The plugin setup must handle
-Google assigns you a unique identifier called a Merchant ID
-specify a range of zip codes in a tax input field by using an asterisk as a wild card character.
-switching between sandbox and production
Payment terms are three equal payments 30%/60%/100% completion. You must communicate over Gmail chat, and I expect daily feedback summaries (5 minutes per day) from the time of bid acceptance. After bid acceptance please communicate within 24 hours, else I move on. There are further tasks on completion of this project including integration with a product RSS feed.
