I need to integrate an Epson Thermal Printer and SMS gateway to an Open Source restaurant take away web application, the application is written in PHP and MySQL (for the DB) and uses the Code Igniter framework. The web application is a takeaway system with a front end for customers to place orders and a backend, where the restaurant can make changes to the front end, update the menu, manage table reservations and receive orders etc. The backend is accessible via any web browser, it would be used by restaurants on iOS and Android tablets. All the main modules and extensions are in place within the web application but the SMS gateway and printing extension is missing. I need the web application to execute the following workflow – 1. New order is placed by a customer via the front end 2. New customer order prints automatically on an Epson Thermal Printer (80mm receipt) - I will provide the XML structure that needs to be printed. a. If the printer is not working, there needs to be an option in the backend where the administrator can forward orders via SMS to the Restaurant. **Currently new orders can be viewed from the Order section from the backend and an email notification can be sent to the restaurant** 3. Restaurant chooses delivery time i.e it will take 45 minutes / 50 minutes for the food to be delivered 4. An SMS or Email messages is sent to customer stating the order has been accepted and the time of delivery of food I would prefer to use Google Cloud Print API for the printing (open to other solutions) and [login to view URL] for the SMS gateway. I would require full documentation on how the printing integration and SMS gateway was implemented.
