Clean up existing Access database, increase speed, fix bugs, add minor features.

I previously listed this database project. I realized quickly that there is probably more than enough talent out there in our price range to do more than just speed up the database. Below is my attempt to more clearly articulate the improvements we would like to hire a freelancer to make a reality. Quality of work is our focus, the time it takes to complete the job is less important. I'm willing to pay for a very nice piece of software, and for someone to take meticulous care of the details. We won't be happy if the final product is unprofessional. Again i'm willing to spend more money for something that's very well done. Shade Tree Database Project The Shadetree database was originally written in Access 97 and offered as open source from another auto shop owner for use. We (forest auto) took the database and made revisions to suit our needs, with limited database expertise. The database in its current form has the backbone of necessary function and works for our business. However the database is slow (perhaps due to inefficient or redundant code), has bugs, and lacks many features that could make a big difference in our daily operations. The database is run daily in split form, with two computers in the shop. The front computer also holds the data tables (back end) while the front end is loaded on both the front and rear computer. The rear computer runs the database cripplingly slow, queries and calculations taking upwards of 5-10 seconds. The following is a list of the improvements we would like to see added to this database. 1) Increase the speed and efficiency of the database. Rewrite code, rework queries with the best possible performance in mind. We also need this database to run quickly over our network. I know this may a network issue (as the database used to run quickly over the network), still we are willing to pay for a solution. Speed of database functions is our first priority by far. 2) Clean up code and remove forms and code we don't use. (outlined in attached document) 3) Fix Bugs (outlined in attached doc) 4) Add some features (again in doc)
