I'm member of elyteam group and I have many experience in this kind of work. I suggest you doing a desktop application and to use Delphi as lenguage and SQLite as database, because these are perfect to do your project. I have done various similars software with these tools and I have obtained very good results. I downloaded the pedigree file but the fields are empty. I will need more information about the fields and more details about what do you want to do with this information. For you job, what I propose is: 1) Export the file as CSV. 2) Write a script (in C or any other language) to parse the file and filter the data as required, then export it back from script as CSV file. 3) Import CSV in Libre Office (this will be filtered data). 4) Save as ods file. Greetings, From examining your worksheet and requirements I believe your best bet is to convert the information to a database; specifically, Microsoft Access. Access is part of the Microsoft Office Suite and has an excellent collection of features. The solution I would create for you would allow you to record information about the pedigree that you are tracking. Each animal would have their own record showing the information you requested about them. When they are mated you would record the details and the subsequent child details when they are born.
