Web Site/Logo Design

Talented web site designer wanted to assist in creating a consistent look and feel for an existing site. Site is a very small (about 10 pages) corporate presence type design. The site is driven by a database amongst other things so pages are not just plain HTML. If you can't provide live samples please do not bid. ## Deliverables Details The site serves two purposes. To offer a web presence and act as a repository of information connected with our line of work. Many documents relating to our business are made available to users. These are currently in the form of text files but we want to standardise a nice format for these to make them viewable on the web. We would very much like to make use of some Flash animations for just simple impact type text animation etc. These will essentially appear in the form of overlays ontop of our content or behind it. Basically we want to have one page which contains our content and if the browser detects Flash then it will display a nicer looking display but essentially will be the same thing. You do NOT have to create two versions of pages or create a lot of complex Flash. It's just animated text eye candy type stuff. Tiny file size is critical. Everything will probably be vectors. No bitmaps as they relatively take up too much space. The other main part is to define a logo for the company. Again the emphasis is on simplicity. Something that will transfer itself well onto a business card etc. We will want a few drafts to look at but will give you samples which we like to act as a base for you to start with. Other This outline is purposely very vague. We will make available more details to candidates we feel are a good fit for this job. This will come in the shape of web site examples, clearer definitions of requirements, access to our test server. I have a much more comprehensive word document which outlines most of this. Project Duration We do not have a timetable to adhere to so are under no immediate time pressure with this. I feel 2-3 weeks is enough time for anyone qualified to do this. That 2-3 weeks will be very relaxed. Given the requirements which really boil down to a logo, some CSS sheets and really defining a general look and feel which we ourselves will apply to the pages it should be more than sufficient. Deliverables - Nice HTML templates we can use as a base for formatting the information we serve. E.g. establish a format like the Microsoft Technet templates for displaying article type information in a consistent form. - Optmisised for size graphics, CSS files - Everything should be easily insertable into ASP type pages - All related source files (including Flash etc) Candidate requirements - Basic Flash knowledge - Ability to work with CSS files etc. - Previous experience of producing pages for use in datadriven sites - Professional way of working Criteria Large chunks of big graphics to fill space are NOT what is wanted. The site puts emphasis on functionality rather than big chunks of pretty graphics which take forever to load. Graphics files should be optimised to be as small as possible without affecting quality. Any good designers should be familiar with the packages to facilitate this. Regular updates during the project. About Us We are professional developers who have no talent/interest in web design.
