Installing, Demonstrating? and Documenting DotNetKicks (DNK? <[login to view URL]>? ) installation on Windows shared hosting account.
**No coding is required.** This project is only for installing,? demonstrating? ? and documenting DotNetKicks (DNK) installation ( from <[login to view URL]> ) on a Windows SHARED hosting plan.
## Deliverables
Installing, Demonstrating and Documenting DotNetKicks (DNK) installation on Windows shared hosting account.
NOTE : No Coding is required for this project but knowledge of coding and installing .Net ASP.Net C# based webapp projects is essential.
NOTE : While selecting a coder for this bid, preference will be given to the coder who can demonstrate a properly working DNK installed on their own website in a Windows shared hosting account along with their bid. We will consider other aspects while selecting a coder ( rating, bid amount, etc) but demo will be most important one. If you show us the demo, please mention which host company and which plan you have used to demo DNK on your website.
The DNK installation procedure mentioned at? ( <[login to view URL]> ) is for installing on dedicated Windows hosting ( not shared hosting. )
It is not 100% clear from the forums or from searching the web if DNK can be installed in a shared Windows hosting account or not with full functionality. It appears it *should* be possible.
For example , On contacting [login to view URL] ( [[login to view URL]][1] ), their support mentioned, ValuePlus Plan ($8.33/month at [[login to view URL]][2]) will support running DNK. ( not verified if it will run DNK unmodified or not. )
JodoHost ( at <[login to view URL]> ) also thinks it should be possible to run DNK in their Windows shared plan. They offer trial account.
Feel free to select a reliable host of your choice.
Please note :
* This project is only for installing, demonstrating and documenting DotNetKicks (DNK) installation ( from <[login to view URL]> ) on a Windows SHARED hosting plan. ( not dedicated or VPS hosting ).
* The latest DNK source files must be installed *unmodified*. You must get the latest trunk or svn revision 596 of source code ( which is being used on <[login to view URL]> ) and use it to install. Changing the settings to configure DNK for installing is ok, but changing source or any of its functionality is not. At no point must source files be modified.
* Full installation and configuration required to get DNK running on shared must be documented with snapshots. All steps must be explained. Do not assume the user of installation document has any prior knowledge of installing and configuring DNK on a shared Windows hosting account
* The shared hosting account must be on Windows server 2003/8 with MS SQL 2005/8.
* Along with documentation, you will need to provide an online working installation of DNK, name of host company and the hosting plan you are using, to allow us to test your installation. We will test your installation documentation by implementing it on a shared hosting account but first for quick verification, we will require you to provide the demo to us on your website.
Important :
* We are allocating total of 30 days for this project, out of which :
* The coder will have first 15 days to complete the project and provide full DNK installation documentation for installing in Windows Shared hosting account,
* After that we will use the next 15 days to test the steps provided to verify that DNK works properly with the documentation you have provided.
* We will accept and close the project after the DNK installation documentation is verified and DNK runs without any errors specific to shared hosting.
* Please note, if any DNK installation or running errors are detected, that are specific to running DNK in shared hosting account, it will be coders responsibility to resolve them, by interacting with DNK developers, on DNK forum or any .Net forum.
* At no point are we asking the coder to code or modify the DNK source code. This is very important. Infact, we do not want DNK source to be changed to get it working in shared hosting account.
If you require any help, before accepting this project or while doing it, please feel free to ask for help on DNK forum at <[login to view URL]>
