Hello sir, how are you? hope you are doing great.!! regarding sensor data, what kind of data you want to store? as it is a noSQL we can use mongodb and mongodb is schemaless so it can accomodate any kind of data format easily. Regarding JSON rest API we have worked and developed in so many applications so we know what we are doing here.! uptill now we have implemented master slave architecture for high availability but we have yet to implement sharding but as we are working mongodb since 3 years it will be easy to do sharding as well. Hello, I have experience with building web APIs (mainly using Python) and working with databases (both SQL - Postgres, MySQL and NoSQL - MongoDB - including sharded clusters). For this project I would use Python and the Tornado web framework due to its performance and simplicity. On the database side we could also consider Postgres which has many features (including the JSON type), is very stable and has good performance. However if you prefer MongoDB or another solution we can use it as well. I believe the structure (how data is organized and indexed in the database) is more important than the db engine. I also have many years of experience with Linux and servers (on dedicated hardware, Amazon and DigitalOcean).
