Travel blog RESEARCH project Build a large database of travel blogs in USA, UK, CAN, AUS, NZ following the 4 phases and steps listed below: a. Travel resources page 1. Ran this query in Google - intitle:travel blog inurl:"links" OR "resources". 2. Setup google search to 100 serp´s x page. 3. Generate the results & reach the first 300 listings, Please scrape all of the URLs & export them to a .CSV file. Verify in the results if some of the blogs listed in this link is part of it, if not, do the same job to find the resources page using this list [login to view URL] 4. Remove irrelevant links and then grab the domain/page authority for each of the links using [login to view URL] and paste this into the xls file. Then sort the links by page authority and remove any that had a PA lower than ~25. 5. After witling the list down to around 100 targets, Scan the amount of outbound links on the pages using Niels Bosma's SEOtools plugin for Excel and sort the list by pages with the lowest number of outbound links on them. 6. Finally register them with the following CONTACT DATA additional to the link resources page. • The website URL. • The name of the website. • A contact name. • A contact email (if possible). • The URL of the contact page. • Twitter handle of the contact. • The Facebook page URL of the website (if relevant). • The title of the most recent article posted (this is so I can easily see if the website is relevant without having to visit each one and check). • The PR of the home page site • The site must be travel related and written in english b. Competitive analysis for guest post blogging 1. Find key travel bloggers by competitive analysis from the list you previously generate above 2. Using the 'Competitive Link Finder' tool from SEOmoz. Filter the 100 links above to find their link back profile and find the most solid 75 links with resources pages as the main list, filter them in other xls sheet based on: • High authority travel blogs that the main site have guest posted on. • Blogs that run weekly 'photo of the week' competitions that will link to your photo if you win. • Good quality travel-niche directories. • 'Top travel blogger' lists and competitions. • Content that the original blog have collaborated on in order to get a mention. • Links to interview articles where original blog have answered questions on a high authority blog and have received a link in return. • Get all the same contact data as we required in the first step. c. Guest blogging list Find the best travel blogs with the best profile and the opportunity to provide content as guest blogger this list must reach at least 100 sites. The search must be focused in • PR of at least 2. • The blog must be English speaking and related to travel. • Must have some form of interaction on the blog posts. • Should have social shares on the recent articles. • Must have posted new content within the last 2 months. • Find and list the link to editorial guidelines • Find if they have destinations page and list the link to that specific page. • All the outbound links must be do follow, if not the site will be discarded • Get all the same contact data as we required in the first step. d. Sponsored post Finally find travel blogs who runs an sponsored post service or text ad options as advertising, the list must reach at least 50 sites, the key idea behind is to focus on sites who accomplish the following: - Huge social media fans or followers base - Social sharing in the last posts published - Certain kind of specialty meaning adventure, food, outdoors, trekking, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, cruises, retreats, rafting, kayaking, cannoying, Add this to the same excel file, getting all the same contact data as we required in the first step. Deliverable product Final deliverable will be a xls file with 4 sheets 1. SERPS results list 2. Competitive results list 3. Guest Blogging list 4. Sponsored post or text link ads list
