Part 1: Dynamic Patterns Using LEDs
Requirement
In this part, you are required to write a Verilog code that produces at least
four different dynamic patterns, that is changing with time with reasonable
speed. And those patterns are controlled by switches.
Features
• Use the most left switches to change the patterns.
• Design your own patterns.
• Use reasonable speed, not too slow nor very fast.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 2: Digital Timer
Requirement
In this part, you will program all the seven-segment displays as a "DIGITAL
TIMER" with countdown functionality. The two displays on the most left will
display the hours (00 to 59), the second two displays will display the minutes
(00 to 59). Then two displays to show seconds (00 to 59). Finally, the last two
shall display the part of seconds (00 to 99).
Features
• You should order the displays as described above.
• Use one switch to start and stop the timer.
• Use one push-button to reset the clock to a specific value.
• This value should be as follows 00:06:XX:XX, where XXXX are the last
non zero numbers of your ID.
• The speed of the clock must be Similar to the normal clock, try to
make it as close as possible to the real seconds.
• Use one switch to select between the above-mentioned speed and
another Slower speed.
• Since this is a timer, in minutes digits the number 60 will never be shown
as well as the number 60 in seconds digits.
• You should show an indication that the timer is finished.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 3: Dynamic indicators Using LEDs
Requirement
In this part, you are required to link part 1 with part 2. Now you should use the
four patterns in part 1 to indicate special events occur to the timer as specified
below:
1- Pattern 1 will be active in the last five minutes.
2- Pattern 2 will be active in the last two minutes.
3- Pattern 3 will be active in the last minute.
4- Finally, Pattern 4 will be active after the timer reaches 00:00:00:00.
5- Two patterns Can’t be active at the same time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Following are some Bonus parts to complete the picture, don’t
go for it unless you finished with the main requirements.
Bonus Part 1: Manual Settings
Requirement
In this part, you will add an option to allow the user to modify the timer settings.
The user will use the four pushbuttons to change and navigate between the digits.
Features
• Use one switch to enable the user inputs.
• Use the right and left buttons to navigate between the digits.
• Use the up and down buttons to change the digits values.
• When this mode is selected, the timer should stop counting.
Bonus Part 2: Blinking When Selected
Requirement
In this bonus part, you should let the user know which digit he is modifying by
making his selected digit blinks on and off while the others are working normally.
Features
• Only one digit should blink at a time
• This is functional only when the manual setting is on.
