Hi, my name is Michael. I am a database management systems (DBMS) programmer and have been programming DBMS applications since 1994.
dBase (Ashton-Tate) has not been around since the middle 90's. The last version produced was V5.
I propose to bring your system up to the 21st century by using Delphi (an object oriented DBMS programming language) and a simple but powerful database (Absolute DB). Absolute DB is single and multi-user capable and uses SQL style queries.
I propose not to use .Net components as these are highly reliant upon the version of Windows installed and the subsequent .Net libraries. We want to create an application that will be available for use beyond the next version of Windows.
I do propose to use an Open Source Delphi component library call JediVCL which has sexy and sleek looking menus, button, screens and the like.
If you need reports, I have a fast and simple report generator that I have continued to upgrade for over 8 years.
And then, we can wrap the entire application into a nice and easy to use installer that will allow for application distribution "sweat-free".
I look forward to further discussing with you how I can bring your application into the 21st century.
Sincerely,
Michael
