Learning basic portfolio performance attribution in R programming ..can somebody take me through

Hi i would like to learn how to import an excel or csv file into the Rstudio and use the pa package (performance attribution) to do some basic analysis..i am newbie in R the process i went through earlier...but failed I loaded a package called "pa" in R trying to do some basic performance attribution analysis for my portfolio, the pa package comes with its own data frame, namely "year" I tried the data (year) in the console line, it works My problem..... I tried to create/import a CSV file and I call it Rtestcsv (with all my holding and Bloomberg code) Rtestcsv I tried to type [data (Rtestcsv)] in the console, error msg pops up and said the file is not found, why? is it true the "pa" package created by Yang Lu can only apply to his own data frame? In order to use the "pa" package performance simple analysis, what should i have to do with my own data frame? coz it seems the CSV file has been successfully imported and appeared in the top right-hand R environment R environment couple of questions i would like to resolve 1) how come the csv/excel file is not able to run in the pa package? 2) for a year performance attribution analysis in my portfolio, say every month i would def buy and sell stocks ....so what's it look like for the excel data set? i only have to include every single names in my data set at every 1st day of each month with its own weighting is enough? if i sell it at the middle of the month, i dont have to capture it in that month's data set? 3) i dont have to follow the pa own package data frame column? i can still use the pa package to run the analysis by creating my own data set only capturing few columns like my Rtestcsv file? that means ignoring the "value" , "size", "growth" and "momentum"?? i think the pa Brinson model doesn't need so much data to do basic attribution analysis right? 4) possible to create some fast short cut buttons in Rstudio to run the pa analysis very quick?? I would appreciate if someone could shed me some insights to handle my issue as I am new to R Best cocochan
