Hi there, I have developed coins based on Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash, Blackcoin and others. I can develop coins with new genesis blocks with different proofs-of-work, coin rewards and blockchain parameters, or fork the blockchain like Bitcoin Cash (or any other coin). Typically new coins have custom block difficulty adjustment algorithms to protect them from massive surges up and down in hashpower. Hybrid coins that use proof of work can transition to proof of stake at a later time, e.g. after mining 10,000 blocks or similar. Things to consider with new coins: mining pools if applicable, permanent nodes, wallet software if planning on running SPV clients, consensus rules and forks.
