Table of Contents (5 pts) Section and sub-section titles and corresponding page numbers. Executive Summary (10 pts) [Between 2 and 3 pages] Must stand alone: summarizes purpose of the project, its practical relevance, overview of the inputs and assumptions, key results, conclusions and recommendations. Introduction (5 pts) [Between 1 and 2 pages] Put the project into context, and describe the contents of the report. Description of the Technology (20 pts) [Between 5 and 10 pages] • History of the Technology • Full technical description of its operating principles with governing equations, power outputs and/or efficiencies, graphs and illustrations, etc. • What the technology is used for • Penetration rate of the technology and examples of current installations •... Analysis of the Technology (20 pts) [Between 5 and 10 pages] • Critical review of the technology using technical, economic and environmental criteria such as life-cycle analysis, embodied energy, energy return on investment, initial costs versus operating costs, rebates and/or tax credits offered by governments around the world, emissions of greenhouse gas and other pollutants, etc. • Future evolution of the technology Conclusions and Recommendations (5 pts) [Between 1 and 2 pages] Key results, concluding remarks, and recommendations. References (5 pts) • Use and cite at least five references besides those provided by the Instructor. • Appropriate in-text referencing using Chicago Manual of Style (see examples in Moodle). • Appropriate end-of-report referencing using Chicago Manual of Style Annexes (5 pts) Annexes as needed.
