So the basic outline of the project is as follows. I would like to use an arduino to control an electric motor via, usb or bluetooth. I have an incremental encoder 1000 pulses per revolution. 200mm circumference wheel. I would like to be able to enter a target length. Once the encoder has reached the target. i would like the motor to stop. The motor is a single phase 240v so I'm guessing some sort of relay board will be required. The target length could be up to 100m. Currently the motor over runs once it is switched off. I would like to reduce this with some sort of offset on the target length. I would like to control this via a tablet or phone. But if usb is easier then i will run with that for now. There are all sorts of things i would like to add to the app. This is more of a prototype. just just the basics at this stage. I would need some basic instructions on how to wire the hardware Im guessing someone multi-skilled in both software and hardware will be needed. A quick search of the web will uncover information on incremental encoders. [login to view URL] have all sorts of boards. maybe one of these can be used. Im really after someone who knows what they are doing !!! Is anyone able to help me out?
