Hello, I am an Android Developer with experience in developing similar apps. The basic concept in implementing it is to have a web service that connects to a back-end database. The web service returns data in JSON format which is parsed by the app and shown in a List or Grid. In a similar manner the app sends the data in JSON format to the web service which then saves the data in the database. The choice of database engine in this case is immaterial as it is handled by the web service. Also the language used to write the web service is immaterial, it can be anything eg PHP, ASP or any other. A similar app that I did is named KurdShopping. The back-end web service in this case was done using PHP+MySQL by a team member who was the PHP developer of the team. Regards, Pankaj.
