Accessing a PC

This project is related getting access of a network computer whose password i have forgotten. I need to gain access to a computer on a network to retrieve some urgent files from there . I can log into the network, and see the target IP, but access to the computer is secured by a password which has been forgotten. I am hoping we can find some sort of work around . Let me know if you think this is a possibility. Thanks !
