DHCP Lease Tracker

Job Summary: Develop a Linux utility that will periodically read ISC DHCP lease files and log assigned leases into a MySQL database for historical tracking of leases over time. Include an interface to query the database by IP address, MAC address, host name, and/or date/time. The interface must accept an input IP address, and optionally a date / time, and must reply with the MAC / host name that held the IP address at the specified time, as well as when the lease was first assigned, and when it expired. Conversely, an input MAC address or host name would provide the IP address assigned. Additionally, the interface should allow the display of history for a given IP address or MAC address, optionally bounded by date and time. Results of searches or history must be viewable as text, or downloadable in CSV format. Finally, a basic administration interface for maintenance, such as purging data earlier than a specified date, showing database counts and sizing, etc., must be provided. Job Parameters: Code developed should be delivered as source code together with the appropriate make utilities, and configuration run on a CentOS Linux platform. SQL scripts for database setup should be included. Coding platform should be reviewed and agreed upon. Code should be well documented, and man files included to document the interface. Setup and maintenance instructions should be included as a separate document. Sample lease data files can be supplied upon job start, but it is also recommended that the developer build a test DHCP failover platform for use in development. Developer must be available to remotely assist with the deployment of the application on our production platform. Empire Access will retain ownership of code and other materials and intellectual property developed for this project. Bid Parameters: Developer must provide relevant job history and describe any background with ISC DHCP utilities or configuration experience. Developer must provide suggested coding platform/language and reasons for its use. Developer must provide documentation of experience working with MySQL, CentOS Linux, and selected coding platform. Developer must provide references for previous work. Job may or may not be awarded based on bid responses received.
