design a database engine interface

Hi There I am intrigued to work with you on this project. I just recently got a chance to see JavaDB and liked it. Now I understand you need a simplified version of Apache CouchDB but implemented on JavaDB, and the engine to be written in Java. I know CounchDB is written in Erlang - not a very popular language (i.e. I dont know it :) ) Having said that, do you want Developers to go through Erlang code of CouchDB or you just want some piece of functionalities implemented in Java and JavaDB. Hi I am Manish. I have 2 years of experience in Java and working with a startup since then. I am always interested in NoSQL technologies. I have experience in working on NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Neo4j and cassandra. Your work seems so interesting. If you want to implement an API for performing CRUD operations and also indexes on CouchDB, I can do it. We can consider the milestones as follows: 1. Design connector for CouchDB using Java. 2. Implement CRUD, if you want it through REST, that can be done using jersey. 3. Implement creating and managing indexes. 4. Implement MapReduce (whatever you told, I have to go through this thing first as I don't have much expertise in MapReduce and all but it is doable) Please let me know if interested.
