This activity addresses the critical aspects of assessment for the competency in the subject of Producing labour and material schedules for ordering in the BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. At the conclusion of this activity you will have: • gathered information on delivery requirements • prepared a purchase order • prepared a builder variation request • tracked changes and made suitable amendments. THERE WILL BE A HOUSE PLAN INCLUDING MEASUREMENTS ATTACHED - WHICH WILL RELATE DIRECTLY TO THE STEPS BELOW: Step 1: As the site supervisor of a small residential project based in CASTLE HILL, 2154, SYDNEY AUSTRALIA (this will effect the information you provide), prepare the project schedule and all the associated documentation using the following information: • The building is to be constructed using brick veneer. • The building has a floor area of 133 square metres including garage. • The concrete slab floor with garage floor is incorporated. • The building will be constructed using hand built wall frame and prefabricated roof trusses. • The building will have a cement tiled roof and powder coated aluminium windows in timber reveals. • The driveway and landscaping are to be provided. • Services are available directly in front of the site. • The site is almost flat and will only need a scrape with minimal excavation. • The contract period is 120 days. • The total job has been pre-costed at $136,500. Note: You are not required to estimate the quantity required. Step 2: Using the list of materials prepared, find the following information for four materials of your choice: • the lead-in time • the delivery date • the order date • delivery requirements and any special considerations. Step 3: Describe the process of ordering the following materials for your project: • external cladding • wall frame • windows. Include in the description things that need to be considered. Step 4: Describe the process of writing up an order for the three items in step 3. Include details on where you would find the information to produce the order. Step 5: After the order is written up, what is the next thing you do? Step 6: While excavating one corner of the project you find the soil below is unsuitable for supporting the foundation. Research the domestic building contract to find out the procedure for initiating a builder variation request. This can be found at Step 7: Follow the procedure for requesting a builder variation and prepare the relevant document to present to the client. Step 8: The variation has been accepted by the client. What implications does this variation have on your site file? Detail the changes you will need to make. You may find this website useful: [login to view URL] Attached is the house plan that these steps are based on. you will need to answer the steps in conjunction with the house plan provided. it would be helpful to print out the house plan on an A3 sized paper to see all the measurements clearly. This is a School assessment task and it is vital that a score of at least 95% is reached. THE DUE DATE FOR THE TASK IS NOVEMBER 14TH 2012.
