Dear Sir, dear Madam, my name is Wolfgang Backhaus, I am an experienced software developer and system engineer from Germany, working in the telecommunications industry (mobile networks) since more than 15 years. My preferred programming language is Perl, but I have a competitive background in other scripting and non-scripting languages (shell, C, Java) as well. I am coding in Perl since 20 years, beginning with CGI scripts for the website of my then employer, later using the language to solve very different problems in the OSS (Operating Support Systems) area of one of Germany's mobile network operators, covering sotutions for file transfer applications, network configuration, interprocess communication and many more. I studied chemistry originally (with a specialization in physical chemistry) and therefore I am predestinated to meet the requirements demanded by engineering/scientific subjects.
