I plan to start a cartoon/comic book site using creloaded oscommerce as my shopping cart. I would like to tailor this site to meet my needs.
I would like to categorize the site by the series's title and under each title, list it's corresponding subcategories.
For Example:
Batman>>toys
apparel
books
Most of the main categories will have the same subcategories, but currently there is no connection between the subcategories themselves.
I would like to simplify and quickly add a product to the catalog without having to create and navigate through different subcategories for each title. I want to create a table in the database for product types, ie. toys, apparel, books etc.
Somewhere in admin, I need the ability to define product types.
In product insertion, I want a pulldown list where I can choose the proper product type that the item belongs to.
In the catalog, the categories will display items sorted out by product type
Product types will have their own page. This doesn't need to be built out dynamically, but will have to be integrated into the site's template structure. It will also display bestsellers, upcoming products, and new arrivals of product type. In addition, the ability to browse in product type alphabetically.
Also, I would like the ability to browse categories alphabetically, sorted by product type.
Check out the examples I have attached.
