Beta Testers for Identification Program

(Updated 4/2/03) We are seeking beta testers for an exciting new product that performs visual searching of multimedia databases for the purpose of instant identification. You will need to sign an NDA to test the product. The first part of this job is to use our Editor program to create a small database. Your custom built database can contain text, numbers, graphics, sounds and HTML including links. As you are building the database you will take notes about your impressions of the interface, its usability, and any bugs you find and then enter this information in a Bug Report web page. The second part of the job is to use the Explorer (viewer) product to perform searches on the database you built. You will take notes as you use the explorer about your impressions of its interface as well as any bugs you noticed and enter them into the Bug Report web page. The job requires submitting your comments in a highly readable format so we can understand and reproduce the bugs you may have found. In order to participate in this testing you will need to select a particular type of database to build so if you would like to be a beta tester you should have some expertise in the area you select. For example if you are a stamp collector you could choose the stamp collection database to build. You won't need to build a huge database, just enough to test the software's ability to search for stamps. We anticipate the creation of a database will take about 4 to 8 hours, depending no how detailed you make it. On line lessons in using the software are provided. Pick the areas you are interested in and let me know why you would be good for this job. ## Deliverables 1) On line report of all bugs and problems that are encountered while using the program. 2) Participation in online forum. 3) Signing NDA. ## Platform 1) Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, or XP with .NET Framework installed.
