I need someone to create an exe file, which runs continuously and measures the printer jobs sent to the printer from the computer it is running on. I need you to do this by monitoring the network traffic (either wireless or lan). ## Deliverables I need someone to create an exe file, which runs continuously and measures the printer jobs sent to the printer from the computer it is running on. I need you to do this by monitoring the network traffic (either wireless or lan). The exe file cannot query the printer queue as this would query the printer server, which is not an option. Notice that this project might be impossible. I do not know. All prints are made through network connection (not through parallel port) and all printers are network printers. Your program must work regardless of which printer a print job is sent to (there can be many printers). Your program should not report anything if a print job has been sent to for example PDFCreator, which simply converts the document to a PDF file. I do not expect your program to detect whether a print was actually successful or cancelled etc, just the print jobs sent. I need the exe file to send the information to a Autohotkey script using the "onMessage" function specified at: [login to view URL] See the third example at the bottom of the page. A message should be sent to the autohotkey script (via "OnMessage") when a printer job is sent to the printer. Your exe file should at no point be noticeable to the user. Performance 1. It is extremely important that this script does not cause the network traffic to become slower. 2. It is extremely important that the script uses ery little CPU. This means that the script must at no point (apart from during startup) use more than 1% of CPU as measured by task manager. It is though allowed to use up to 20% of cpu for a maximum of 2 seconds right when a printer job is sent. I will test this under extreme conditions like high network traffic. It is acceptable that there is a delay of up to 5 seconds before the autohotkey script is notified of the printout of this will help reduce CPU load. The machines it is running on are fairly modern single core PC's. Never expect me to test anything you have not tested properly yourself. I could refuse to test at any point if it is taking me too much time. Bonus tasks Bonus tasks that are not required to complete this project, though very nice if you can implement them. Please indicate, which you will implement, in which case they will become requirements of this project: 1. Count the number of pages printed regardless of which program sent the printer job. 2. Measure the name of the printer or some kind of identification that is the same when different computers send printer jobs to the same printer. 3. Measure the name of the document being printed. 4. Measure, which program sent the printer job, this should not be assumed based on the program being open at the time, but via network traffic. 5. A message if the printer job has changed status like: not actually being printed, cancelled, delayed, paper jam or whatever. All this without querying the printer server. 6. Any other information regarding the printer job. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform XP, Vista
